Aubrey Laret lives and works in London. He began making art after 20 years in advertising, both as a response to the nature of his profession and to explore the new art of digital image making. His work is held in private and corporate collections and he has exhibited at ‘The Arterie’ South London, The Bloomsbury Art Fair and ‘Buy Art’ in Manchester. He has been selected by Julian Cox Chief Curator at the Fine Arts Museums of San Francisco to show at ‘The Art of Photography’ at the Institute of Art in San Diego, California and will be part of ‘Transient Facades’ a group show at The London College of Communication. He is currently showing as part of the London Design Festival. Artist Statement Working in advertising has influenced the graphic quality of my work and as a result, most of what I do is print based using the rich quality of digital print - the flatness of the surface and the intensity of colour. This combination of print and digital reflects the world we live in where modern media shapes the reality of our world. “I believe that art is first and foremost a visual experience and the physical sensation of looking drives my art. It is a process of playing, experimenting and thinking until something emerges that speaks to you and anyone else that sees it.”
